RINL holds refresher course on boiler operation

Visakhapatnam: A one-day refresher training programme for Boiler Operation Engineers was conducted at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited(RINL) on Tuesday. The sessions covered key topics such as efficient boiler operation, water chemistry management, boiler explosion prevention, and piping design. Experts explained practical challenges, safety protocols, and recent developments in the field. The programme organised by the Boiler Department, Visakhapatnam Region, Government of Andhra Pradesh was inaugurated by K Veerabhadra Rao, Deputy Chief Inspector of Boilers, Visakhapatnam Region, and Dr Salim G Purushothaman, Director (Operations), RINL. Among others, Prasad, Inspector of Boilers, Subhasis Sen Gupta, CGM (Works)I/c, and Anindya Ghosh, CGM (Services), were present on the occasion. Around 100 officers from various power plants across Andhra Pradesh, including RINL, attended. The training served as a platform to strengthen technical knowledge and share best practices in boiler operations. The speakers stressed the need for strict adherence to safety standards and efficient operation of boilers. They urged participants to apply the learnings in their respective plants to improve performance, reduce risks, and ensure reliability in operations.
